    The LIFT hosts the Academy of Technology, Engineering, Math, and Science, Abilene ISD's state-of-the-art home for STEM education. The mission of ATEMS is to provide a safe, challenging learning environment that emphasizes academic excellence in STEM education as well as the development of 21st century skills that are needed to be successful in STEM careers and post-secondary education.

Mr. Jay Ashby has served Abilene ISD students and families for more than a decade. He began his career as a teacher at Abilene High School before serving as a teacher, instructional specialist, and associate principal at Cooper High School. Mr. Ashby is a proud Abilene High graduate and former Lincoln Middle School Longhorn and Bonham Elementary Bulldog. He holds a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Hardin-Simmons University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University, and an Ed.S. in organizational leadership from Abilene Christian University.
